Two of the most genius artists in the world, together in one exhibition

Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí compliment, admire, discuss, and influence in this ambitious exhibition that has successfully taken place in New York and Figueres. Next up is Barcelona, where it will stay until the end of the exhibit in June.

The collection has more than 80 pieces from museums of Barcelona and New York, in addition to paintings from some of the world's most prestigious museums such as the George Pompidou in Paris and the Moderna Museet from Stockholm. The aim is to create an interaction between the two geniuses, something which has not been discussed much up until now.

The exhibition takes place from the first trip to Paris by Dalí in the spring of 1926 during which he visited the studio of Picasso, where he could see and contemplate his latest works. Upon returning, Dalí commenced work on a group of paintings that reflected their artistic meeting, marking the transition to his artistic maturity.

Years after, both artists participated in surrealist projects, introducing the creative and disruptive power of their dreamlike imaginations and the work it produced. Around 1936, both artists created iconic images of the very human drama of the Spanish Civil War. During Franco's regime, both artists presented different political ideologies, but always maintained a link with the past and with their own artistic notions of sovereignty in their creations.
