If it is very important for people to visit the Sagrada Familia Church and get into the church and towers, then book tickets before going to Barcelona. If you are going to Barcelona for the first time - consider that you may get depended of the great spirit of the city, the weather and the beach:-)We are surely coming back to Barcelona and the accomodation at Canvis Vells 3 in Born!

Don't get scared to book a trip to Barcelona in the beginning of October. It may sound like a cold month, but it was really pleasant there. From the 4th to the 13th, we had about 2 days of cold and drizzling rain, nothing too serious, the rest was sunny and pleasant enough to wear pants & a t-shirt and bring a cardigan along if it got a little chillier in the evening. Also, good walking shoes are a must - I learnt that the hard way! :)

Bring some very comfortable shoes. Even though the metro is very efficient, you will definitely want to walk a lot since the city is beautiful. Everybody will tell you to watch for pickpockets. However, we were lucky not to have any problem of that kind, nor did we saw anybody in any kind of trouble. Moreover, police are present in the most touristic areas and popular streets.

There are thieves and con artists aplenty in the city. Once you get out of the tourist area it's a bit better. But take care to hide your cash and passport in a travel wallet under your clothes, and beware of people claiming to be policeman wanting to check passports or "helpful" people saying you have something dirty on your backpack.
